I can’t find the details about setup, wifi settings, security broadckm to lock down what I think it could be. I use AVG Anti-Virus which is constantly being updated and runs behind-the-scenes; but sadly I’m a poor bloke and use the free version. As for protection I always seem to have connection issues when I use a third-party firewall, so for now the Windows Firewall is all I have.
Unless you know the history of what has been done to that laptop, you could be chasing gremlins and it may be easiest to start over and restore the image to factory condition after backing up all user data and settings.

I know this is asking a lot so let’s use the forum’s advised settings and forgo the old “it worked before” discussion but I’m glad you noted that but with script kiddies, WEP, MAC address filters and more which are addressed in the forum sticky it seems we need to move to the advised setup 4321aag than later.

If anyone else has anything, I’ll listen. Yes, the computer connects to other wi-fi hotspots, like public connections and so forth. I’m going to include the contents of thise as well but have screenshots I’m not about to copy down all of that information longhand. If you’re asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem.
At less the fix for that is known.
